Providence Presbyterian Church has been involved in three primary Bible Studies and, as needed, an Inquirer's Class.
Sunday Morning Bible Studies
Our first Bible Study is our continuing examination of the Scriptures during our Sunday morning worship of Christ. This involves a weekly message based on the true and inerrant word of the Bible. It is primarily led by our Pastor, Reverend Randy L. Steele, and in his absence by other capable men of the congregation or friends of the Church. By clicking on the link you can see what items are available from our Sunday Morning Bible Studies.
Minor Prophet Series
Our second Bible Study is devoted to a study of the minor prophets of the Bible. So far we have studied Habakkuk, Zephaniah, and Micah. We are currently studying Hosea. Lord willing, we will finish this study and continue with Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Nahum and Zechariah (not necessarily in that order). This series also includes the studies of Malachi, Haggai, and Jonah, which were originally done as part of our Sunday Morning Bible Studies. Since these books are also considered part of the minor prophets they are included here for completeness. These studies are all led by Pastor Steele. They involve an in-depth exposition of each of these books of the Bible. By clicking on the link you can see what items are currently available from our Minor Prophet Series.
Studies of Genesis Series
Previously our Church devoted an entire lengthy study to the Book of Genesis. This study was led by Pastor Steele. It involved an in-depth exposition of the entire book of Genesis. This study took place over an extended period from 7 September 1997 to 2 September 2001. There are 99 hourly studies which were completed over this four-year period. By clicking on the link you can see what items are available from our Studies of Genesis Series.
Inquirer's Class Study
As needed, our church has an Inquirer's Class during the Sunday School hour. This class is for those who would like to consider membership at Providence Presbyterian Church or would like to know more about our church. For this class we use the text "Confessing Christ" by Calvin Knox Cummings, along with appropriate Biblical references. The class is composed of seven separate studies, one devoted to each of the chapters of the text.
